Two Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
